According to Tenzin Norsang of TYC, he (Tashi Gyamtso) had expressed his desire to continue with the fast and has been moved to an undisclosed location.

Some nine Tibetans were detained at the Connaught Place Police Station but released after half an hour. A young Tibetan woman was taken to the hospital after she passed out during the scuffle with police.

The men who refused food, water and medical attention had entered their eight day and was the third in batches of six to sit on the demonstration to protest the Beijing Olympics and continued repression in Tibet.

The 2008 Summer Games Closing Ceremony will mark the conclusion of the Beijing Olympics in a glittering event August 24 at the Beijing National Stadium. With it looms large the fear of severe lockdown and incessant control over Tibet. Photo:Tibetan Youth Congress
