Tibetans try to enter Delhi hotel

Updates on the Olympic torch relay in Delhi and protests by Tibetans and their Indian supporters.

Few Tibetan protesters tried to enter the hotel where the Olympic torch is. They were detained by security personnel.


Vijay Chowk and Boat Club Road have been sealed off as of now.


NEW DELHI : Former Samata Party President Jaya Jaitley led the first group of Tibetan protestors holding the freedom torch at Janpath here on Thursday.


Though security personnel tried to stop her and snatch the torch, she managed to reach Jantar Mantar, where former defence minister George Fernandes was leading another group of Tibetan protestors.


A third batch of around 2,500 protestors was led by former cricketer Kirti Azad.
