MUSINGS

My Soul Hums

Born free am I
Yet often confused
If I deserve that
To be called human being?

Like others I do
Conscience to reason
Discern right from wrong
And also faith and feelings.

They proclaim and preach
No matter what color you wear
What faith you believe
Haves and have-nots are all equal.

Not an example shown
But only a precept to preach
To visualize a state
Rather action are words.

Humiliation is my sever pain
Hurting to strain inhumanely
Handcuffed and shackled feet
Kicked and being spat at.

I seek no for help
But truth I must trace
I ask for no charity
But justice I urge for.

Law claims it aloud
No man shall enslave
Yet a painted glory in papers
Far from the actual ground.

Thus, still freezing in the fog
Nursing a faint flame of hope
And a reason to think, my soul hums
Questioning my very identity!
