Amalia, A Western Tibetan Singer

A Unique Initiative on Aids Awareness
The message from His Holiness during the 46th founding anniversary of TCV, Dharamshala, 2006 has inspired a group of nursing students to take initiative on aids awareness. The Tibetan Students’ Volunteers for Aids Awareness - a group consisting of final year students of nursing college of Jamia Hamdard University in Delhi organized series of Aids awareness campaigns in Tibetan communities in Delhi.

"The difference between the Kashag’s new education policy and the present Indian education system is that the present Indian education system implements the indoctrination style of teaching which brainwashes the children’s mind,"says Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, the PM of Tibetan Government in Exile, Dharamsala

 

"There has been lot of confusions among people that the education policy adopted by Kashag will not teach modern philosophies, science and technologies which is completely a misconception on their part. It is not said in its charter that the new education policy will not teach modern science and western thoughts. In contrarily, it stated that all subjects will be taught through different method so as to yield a better result," says Thubten Lungrig, the Education Minister of Tibetan Government in Exile, Dharamsala.

Tsampa to Pizza
A potential film maker in making, Sonam Tsetan, a young film maker based in Delhi has recently stormed exile Tibetan filmdom with his debut feature film, Tsampa To Pizza. Currently working in India’s NDtv, Sontse confesses that things like nationalism and patriotism comes naturally to
him.
