Dharamsala, January 4: Prime Minister of Tibet's Government in exile Samdhong Rinpoche on Monday attended an educational seminar in Rait village in Himachal Pradesh.

Trainee teachers from various parts of the country participated in the daylong seminar themed ‘Education for Peace’ organised by the local Dronacharaya College, located near Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile.

The Tibetan PM, who was the chief guest, hailed the theme of the seminar.

“Today the greatest challenge to the world is violence and destruction and the teaching community need to prepare the coming generation who can work for peace and stability,” ANI quoted Rinpoche as saying.

“This seminar, I think is beneficial for requirement of the times and the participants are good scholars, and I am very much impressed by their participation,” he added.

The orgainsers said the primary goal in conducting the seminar was to train teachers, so that they educate the people on peace.

“The seminar, basically we have planned because there is a lot of problems in the country and it was thought probably the teachers or specially the trainee teachers will be the best people to educate people on the process of peace,” said Y. D. Singh, the director of Dronacharaya College.

The seminar also aims at training teachers in understanding the problems faced by students and to help them to tackle those problems in an efficient manner.
