Janata Dal (United) Supports Tibet Issue says the Party Secretary

Dharamshala: Mr. Javed Raza National General Secretary of the Janata Dal (United) Party in a press conference in Dharamsala on Friday said the party supports the Tibet issue. He was in the town for a two-day visit hosted by the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile.
Mr. Raza said, “...Since the occupation of Tibet and the coming in exile of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Socialist of India has been consistent in our support for freedom and human rights of people of Tibet.”
He also said, “We shall continue to support the non-violent movement of the Tibetan people under the leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.”
"The Janta Dal leaders Sharad Yadav, George Fernandes and our party have been raising human rights issues of Tibet in Indian Parliament house. They are also now trying to revive the All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet", said Mr Raza at the press conference.
Deputy Speaker Mrs. Dolma Gyari present with Mr. Raza, Members of Tibetan Parliament, Mrs.Ngawang Lhamo and Ven. Geshe Thupten Phelgye said, Tibetan Parliament-in-exile will invite Mr. Raza again to Dharamsala to have a better understanding of Tibet by having “a more of a working meeting with the Tibetan Parliament ...”. Mrs. Gyari said “ ...because as any other Tibetan, the Tibetan Parliament strongly believes that India being proactive on Tibet issue will have a great impact on Tibet issue.”
Deputy Speaker, extended warm welcome and thanked Mr.Raza and the Janata Dal (United) party and all the political parties of India for supporting the Tibet issue with their steady support for many years on behalf of the Tibetan Parliament.
Mrs. Gyari lauding the workings of All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet, explained the founding of the forum in 1969. This was initiated by the senior Indian leaders including Mr. Madhu Milani and Mr. George Fenandes to support Tibet issue.
Ven. Geshe Thupten Phelgye urged the Indian government to support the Tibet issue as the Central Tibetan Administration under the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is following Middle-way to resolve the Tibet issue by saying, “...Indian Government and Indian politicians should not have any hesitations to support Tibet cause...”
Mr. Raza in this trip to Dharmsala have met with the representatives of the Tibetan NGOs, visited schools and institutions.
